AW Cycles

Yes, AW Cycles offers a military discount direct from the retailer: 5% off bikes and frames, and 10% off everything else in its Reading store and online. It's aimed at serving personnel, veterans and the wider forces community, with no card scheme needed to unlock it.

The latest AW Cycles offers and deals are listed on this page and updated regularly, so you can save on bikes, parts and accessories even before you factor in the forces discount. Check what's live today before you check out.

Does AW Cycles offer a military discount?

AW Cycles runs its own military discount scheme rather than going through Blue Light Card or Defence Discount Service.
The independent Reading bike shop supports troops with a 5% discount on bikes and frames as well as 10% on everything else.
This is a brand-direct offer, so it applies both in-store at their Caversham showroom and when you shop online at awcycles.co.uk.

The discount covers the full range: road bikes, mountain bikes, e-bikes, commuter and children's bikes, plus parts, clothing and accessories. AW Cycles hasn't published a full list of exclusions on its military benefits page, so it's sensible to confirm at checkout or in-store that any item you're buying, particularly bikes already on sale, qualifies for the reduced rate. Some customer reviews also mention staff applying a discount for Blue Light Card holders in-store on spares, though this isn't listed as a formal partnership on the AW Cycles website, so treat it as something to ask about rather than rely on.

How to claim the AW Cycles military discount

1. Check the live AW Cycles offers listed on this page first, in case there's a sale or promotion you can combine with your saving.
2. Visit the AW Cycles military personnel benefits page on their website, or head into the Caversham showroom.
3. Confirm your eligibility with staff either online or in-store; be ready to show ID such as a military ID card, veteran's ID card or other proof of service.
4. Choose your bikes, frames or accessories, and the correct discount (5% or 10%) should be applied to your order.
5. If ordering online and the discount doesn't apply automatically, contact the AW Cycles team by phone or email before you pay so they can sort it for you.

Who is eligible

AW Cycles describes its scheme as supporting troops, and in practice UK military discounts of this kind are generally open to serving Regulars, Reservists and veterans. AW Cycles hasn't published a detailed breakdown covering cadet force adult volunteers, MOD civil servants or spouses and partners, so if you fall into one of those groups it's worth asking staff directly before you buy, either by phone, email or in-store, to confirm you qualify.

Other ways to save at AW Cycles

Start with the AW Cycles offers listed on this page, they're checked and refreshed regularly so you're not missing a better deal elsewhere on the site. Beyond the forces discount and any live promotions, AW Cycles also runs a dedicated offers section on its own site with money-off sales across bikes and accessories at the time of writing.
Free UK delivery is available on all orders over £25, with next day delivery available at an additional cost.

Returns are kept simple too, with no fuss and no red tape if you need to send an item back using the returns form included with your order.
You can also sign up to the AW Cycles newsletter for news on events and offers, and the shop takes part in the Cyclescheme cycle-to-work benefit if that's relevant to your household.

About AW Cycles

AW Cycles has been serving the cyclists of Reading since 1994 and has developed into one of the most respected independent cycle shops in the country.
The showroom in Caversham spans two floors and stocks road bikes, mountain bikes, e-bikes, commuter and children's bikes alongside parts and accessories from well-known manufacturers. Forces families use AW Cycles for its personal, expert advice and its Cytech-trained workshop, which matters when leave is short and you need a bike sorted properly rather than quickly.

Yes. The AW Cycles scheme is described as support for troops and applies alongside serving personnel, so veterans are included. If you're unsure exactly what proof of service is accepted, contact the shop before ordering to confirm.

Can I use a Blue Light Card or Defence Discount Service at AW Cycles?

AW Cycles doesn't list itself as a partner brand on the Defence Discount Service scheme, and it runs its own military discount rather than a Blue Light Card partnership. Some in-store reviews mention Blue Light Card being accepted on spares, so it's worth asking staff directly, but the confirmed route to a saving is the AW Cycles direct military discount.

, at the time of writing. That covers parts, accessories and clothing alongside the bikes themselves.
