Wagamama

Wagamama has no permanent corporate military discount programme. There is no standing Blue Light Card partnership and no fixed DDS code available year-round. That said, DDS lists Wagamama among its food and dining partners, and deals do appear in the member area from time to time. Checking DDS before a Wagamama visit is worth building into the habit — offers have included percentage discounts on dine-in meals when active.

Does Wagamama Offer a Military Discount?

No dedicated permanent forces discount exists at Wagamama. The position has been consistent — no corporate scheme, no standing Blue Light Card tie-up. Where savings do surface for the forces community is through DDS when a timed offer is live, and at individual branch level in some locations.

The Colchester Wagamama, for example, has offered 10% off for forces personnel. That reflects local franchise and management discretion rather than a chain-wide policy. It is worth asking at the counter when visiting a branch near a base or garrison town — not guaranteed, but some restaurants do accommodate the request.

How to Save at Wagamama as Forces Personnel

The practical approach is to check DDS first. Log into the Defence Discount Service member area and search for Wagamama before visiting. When an offer is live it will show there. DDS membership is free for serving personnel, so this costs nothing.

Wagamama's email list carries subscriber-only deals, early access to seasonal menu launches and occasional BOGOF promotions on selected dishes. Signing up at wagamama.com is free and available to anyone. The Pepper dining app has also carried Wagamama discount offers at various points — worth having installed for dining out in general.

For broader dining discounts available to the forces community, the restaurants forces discounts section covers current deals across chains where verified savings are more consistently available.

About Wagamama

Wagamama was founded in London in 1992, drawing on the format of fast-paced Japanese ramen bars. The menu covers ramen, teppanyaki, donburi, gyoza and the katsu curry — the dish that has become the chain's best-known item. Over 150 restaurants now operate across the UK and Ireland, with around 50 more internationally.

The open kitchen layout and long communal benches have stayed broadly consistent since the original Bloomsbury site. The format works well for groups and family meals, and Wagamama has positioned itself as a mid-market casual dining option rather than a fast food chain, with table service throughout.

For eating out deals from restaurants with clearer and more consistent forces schemes, the Nando's military discount page and Pizza Hut forces savings page are both worth checking alongside Wagamama.
