Does Moss offer a military discount?

Moss really values the hard work of the NHS, emergency services, armed forces, teachers and other key workers, and offers them a 10% discount when they verify their employment status
through Blue Light Card, Health Service Discounts or Discounts for Teachers. The same 10% saving
has also been promoted through the Defence Discount Service, the official Ministry of Defence discount service
, which lists Moss Bros among its retail partners for the armed forces community.

The discount has also been confirmed via local Armed Forces community listings, with
Moss Bros offering 10% off through Blue Light Card
alongside other high street names. At the time of writing, the saving
applies to all items with no minimum spend required
, but the usual retailer exclusions tend to apply: it typically
does not usually apply to gift cards and gift vouchers, sale and clearance items, or delivery charges
, and it
cannot be used with other Moss codes, offers or promotions unless stated otherwise
. Because eligibility and terms are set by Moss and its verification partners rather than by us, always check the current wording at checkout before you buy.

How to claim the Moss military discount

1. Check the live Moss offers listed on this page first, in case there is a better saving available right now.
2. Register or sign in with Blue Light Card, the Defence Discount Service, or Health Service Discounts to verify your status.
3. Once verified, retrieve your unique Moss discount code from your chosen partner's dashboard.
4. Shop as normal at Moss and add your items to the basket.
5. Enter your code at checkout to apply the 10% saving before you pay.
6. Double-check the order summary, as some sale, clearance and hire items may be excluded.

Who is eligible

The Moss military discount is aimed at
the armed forces alongside NHS staff, emergency services, teachers and other key workers
. In practice, this means serving Regulars and Reservists who can verify through Blue Light Card or the Defence Discount Service, and veterans who hold membership of either scheme, since both are open to the ex-forces community. Moss does not publish a separate policy for cadet force adult volunteers, spouses or MOD civil servants, so eligibility ultimately comes down to whether you meet the verification criteria of Blue Light Card or the Defence Discount Service rather than any rule set directly by Moss. If you are not registered with either, the offers listed on this page are open to everyone in the forces community regardless of verification status.

Other ways to save at Moss

Start with the Moss offers and deals listed on this page, since they are checked and updated regularly and do not require any verification step. Beyond that, Moss runs a handful of genuine ways to bring the price down:

• The dedicated Sale and Outlet sections carry discounts of up to 60% on wool suits, casual shirts, tailored trousers and leather shoes from previous seasons
, at the time of writing.
• Group suit hire promotions are common, such as hiring four suits and getting a fifth hire free
, which helps if you are outfitting a wedding party.
• Standard delivery becomes free once you spend over £200
, so it is worth combining smaller purchases into one order where you can.
• Joining the Moss newsletter is a straightforward way to hear about new season sales and one-off promotions as they launch.
• A separate student and graduate discount also exists, verified independently of the forces scheme, so check which offer suits your situation before checkout.

Moss and the forces community

Moss has a longer connection to the armed forces than most high street tailors.
The Military Department was opened in 1910 following the successful kitting out of officers
, and
the brand went on to supply military uniforms to officers in the Boer War, World War I and World War II
.
During the Second World War, Moss Bros opened branches in strategic locations to serve the needs of the armed forces
. That history sits behind today's 10% discount for serving personnel and veterans, run through Blue Light Card and the Defence Discount Service.

About Moss

Moss, formerly known as Moss Bros, is a historic British heritage menswear retailer founded in 1851, and over more than 170 years the brand has established itself as the UK's go-to expert for formalwear, tailoring and wedding attire
.
In 2023, the brand officially rebranded from Moss Bros to Moss
, broadening its range into smart-casual clothing alongside its long-standing suit hire and custom-tailoring services. Forces families use Moss for everything from passing-out parades and mess dinners to weddings and interviews, where a reliable fit matters more than fashion trends.
