Saltrock

Yes, Saltrock runs an official military discount for the UK forces community, verified through the Defence Discount Service, with savings on everything from t-shirts to bodyboards at the time of writing. It sits alongside separate keyworker and Blue Light Card schemes, so serving personnel and veterans have more than one route in.

The latest Saltrock offers and deals are listed on this page and updated regularly, so you can save on surf-inspired clothing and gear whether or not you fancy going through the verification process for the forces scheme.

Does Saltrock offer a military discount?

Saltrock has partnered with UK user groups to reward keyworkers across the country, with discounts that vary by user group and are subject to terms and exclusions.
The military element of this scheme runs through Defence Discount Service, which is listed on Saltrock's own keyworker and military discount page as one of several verified partners alongside Blue Light Card, teacher and carer discount groups.

The site itself lists example savings available through Defence Discount Service, including
40% off T-shirts, 20% off everything, 20% off changing towels, 30% off bodyboards, and 3 for 2 on small accessories
. These categories can change, so treat the exact percentages as a guide rather than a guarantee, and always check what's live when you go to verify.

Saltrock also runs a separate Blue Light Card discount for NHS staff, emergency services and the wider blue light community, which some armed forces personnel may also be eligible for depending on their role. Either way, the Saltrock military discount and the Blue Light Card offer are distinct schemes with their own terms, so don't assume one automatically covers the other.

How to claim the Saltrock military discount

1. Check the live Saltrock offers listed on this page first, as some seasonal promotions can beat the standard forces discount.
2. Go to the Saltrock website and find the "Keyworker & Military Discount" link, usually tucked into the footer under "Quick Help".
3. Select Defence Discount Service as your verification route from the list of partner groups.
4. Complete the verification process with your Defence Discount Service membership details.
5. Once verified, apply the unique code or link generated to your basket before checkout.
6. Review the discount applied and confirm it covers the category you're buying, since exclusions can apply to certain items.

Who is eligible

Defence Discount Service membership, which underpins the Saltrock scheme, is generally open to serving Regulars and Reservists, veterans, MOD civil servants, and spouses or partners of those currently serving. Cadet force adult volunteers are typically eligible too, though Saltrock itself doesn't publish a separate eligibility list beyond naming Defence Discount Service as the verification partner. If you're unsure whether your status qualifies, Defence Discount Service's own membership criteria will confirm it before you try to apply anything at Saltrock's checkout.

Other ways to save at Saltrock

Start with the offers listed on this page, since these are checked regularly and sometimes beat the standard forces discount, particularly during sale season. Beyond that:

• Saltrock runs seasonal sales, including mid-season and clearance events with reductions reported up to 50% off selected lines at the time of writing.
• Saltrock offers free UK returns
, so trying before committing to a full-price order carries less risk.
• You have 30 days from receipt of your parcel to return items
, giving you time to decide if kit fits before a posting or holiday.
• Free standard delivery typically kicks in once your basket passes a set threshold, with a smaller flat fee below that, so it's worth checking your basket total before checkout.
• Students, apprentices aged 16 to 26, and keyworkers have their own separate discount routes if you or a family member fall into those groups instead.

About Saltrock

Saltrock Surfwear is a British surfwear company based in Devon, created by brothers Ross and Angus Thomson in 1988.
The brand sells boardshorts, hoodies, wetsuits, changing robes and accessories designed for surfing, hiking and everyday coastal life. Saltrock military discount FAQs

Is there a Saltrock veterans discount?

Yes. Saltrock's military discount is accessed through Defence Discount Service, which covers veterans alongside serving Regulars and Reservists. You'll need to verify your status with Defence Discount Service before the discount applies at checkout.

Can I use a Blue Light Card or Defence Discount Service at Saltrock?

Both are listed as verified partners on Saltrock's own keyworker and military discount page. Defence Discount Service covers the forces-specific discount, while Blue Light Card is a separate scheme aimed more broadly at NHS staff and emergency services, with some crossover for armed forces personnel.

Does the Saltrock military discount cover online and in-store purchases?

Saltrock's own page doesn't spell out a clear online versus in-store split for the Defence Discount Service offer, so it's worth confirming at the point of verification which channels are included before you shop.

Can I stack the Saltrock military discount with other codes?

Saltrock states that keyworker and military discounts vary by user group and are subject to terms and exclusions, which typically means they can't be combined with other promotional codes. Check the live offers on this page instead, since some seasonal deals apply automatically without needing a separate code.

Do Saltrock discounts cover reservists and cadet force volunteers?

Defence Discount Service membership generally extends to Reservists and adult cadet force volunteers alongside Regulars and veterans, though Saltrock itself hasn't published a detailed eligibility breakdown beyond naming Defence Discount Service as its verification partner.

What if the Saltrock military discount doesn't apply to what I want to buy?

Some categories are excluded from forces discount schemes, particularly during sale periods. If that happens, check the offers listed on this page first, as a seasonal promotion may offer a better saving on the exact item you want.

Are family members of serving personnel eligible?

Spouses and partners of currently serving personnel are typically included under Defence Discount Service membership, which is the route Saltrock uses to verify its military discount.
